quote
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost

Baseball fan, American hero. (via @CrawfishBoxes)

U-S-A!

I know gifs don’t have music, but I can still hear the faint notes of Lee Greenwood belting out “I’m proud to be an American.”

You’d think that someone with the hand-eye coordination to catch a foul ball in a beer cup could probably manage to pour his beer into his mouth.

Nope.

Also: Stoked friend in GIF #3 is a total scene stealer.

I pooped my pants a little when I saw this live. Probably the best dunk I’ve ever seen (over the LeBron dunk of a couple days ago, Vince Carter’s dunk over the Frenchman in the Olympics, and Tom Chambers’ knee-to-the-chest dunk).

I’m still buzzing.

gotemcoach:

MUST WATCHBlake Griffin just won Dunk of the Year.

And Kendrick Perkins is 6 feet deep.  Milk. Shake.

@gotem_coach

Blake Griffin you are RE-DUNK-ULOUS

The Greatest Animated Sports GIFs Of 2011

Stop whatever you’re doing right now and go read Jon Bois’ best .gifs feature at SB Nation IMMEDIATELY. The monthly installments were my favorite thing on the internet this year, and this is like all of that awesomeness and hilarity crammed into one feature.
